Monday: Cut-off upper low south-west of the Cape. Isolated thunderstorms are expected in a band of moist air, from north-eastern Namibia, via Botswana to the northern Free State, north of a surface trough over the central interior. Tuesday: Cut-off upper low weakening as it slides away to the south-east. Isolated thundershowers again in moist air north of a surface trough over the central interior. Wednesday: A cut-off low over the ocean south-west of the country. An anti-cyclonic circulation over the interior will dominate the flow and only a few heat induced thunderstorms are expected. Thursday: The cut-off low south-west of the country moves closer and a weak upper trough develops over Botswana, causing moisture from the tropics to flow to the central interior, where isolaated thundershowers are expected. Sunday: The cut-off low south-west of the country is weakening to a trough, but scattered thunderstorms are expected over the central and eastern interior, as the Botswana upper trough intensifies. Saturday: Moist air still flowing from the tropics southward to the central interior and scattered thunderstorms are expected over the central and eastern interior. Sunday: A low-level low develops over southern Botswana and with moisture still flowing southwards from the tropics. Further scattered thundershowers are expected over the central and eastern interior.
