05/22 - Deluge in Tampa, Florida

Slow moving, severe thunderstorms hit the Tampa Bay area Tuesday night with wind gusts reaching 96 kph (60mph) bringing down trees and powerlines. In little more than 2 hours over 110mm (4.3") rain fell in places causing roads to become impassable and localized flooding occured throughout the Tampa Bay area. The region is expected to undergo another round of severe weather on Thursday, say local weathermen.
